Brittany Murphy was very ill in the hours before she went into cardiac arrest and died, sources tell TMZ.
We're told Murphy was taking prescription meds for flu-like symptoms she had been experiencing for several days. We're told Murphy began vomiting early Sunday morning and told family members she was feeling very ill.
Sources say various prescriptions were found in the home -- written for Brittany Murphy, husband Simon Monjack, and Brittany's mom. One source says, "There were a lot ... a lot of prescriptions in the house."
Law enforcement sources tell us Murphy collapsed in the bathroom and somehow ended up in the shower ... there was, we're told, a significant amount of vomit in the immediate area.
We're also told authorities did not find illegal drugs in the house, but Murphy was definitely taking various prescription meds.
Sources say her condition and the meds could have triggered a heart attack, but it's too early to know. An autopsy will be performed Monday or Tuesday. We reported earlier Monjack did not want an autopsy but ultimately it's the Coroner's call.
As we first reported, Brittany Murphy's mother told paramedics her daughter suffered from diabetes. We're told it was type 2 diabetes and people involved in the case doubt her condition caused her death.

Nicole Richie was telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth Monday in court when she said she wasn't feeling well -- because now she's holed up in a hospital, sick as a dog.
Richie ended up having pneumonia ... and is now being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A., this according to her rep.
Richie's cough-filled testimony on Monday still did the job -- she was granted restraining orders against two paparazzi she claimed caused her to get into a car accident.

Imagine hearing a pilot ask, "Is there a doctor on the plane?" -- and the person who jumps up is the pumped up, cleavage bearing, sleeve-deficient boob-job specialist Dr. Rey!
Last night in Jersey, the chesty "Dr. 90210" star told us how he sprung into action when passengers suspected an 11-year-old Scandanavian girl was coming down with the swine flu during the flight.
Though he didn't have a quarantine bubble available, Rey claims he did the best he could -- treating the sick little girl with a quick fix of sugar, water and instructed her to get further medical assistance after landing.
It's the second time Rey has "saved the day" during a flight -- back in May '06, the karate expert helped take down an 80-year-old man who rushed the cabin.

Brock Lesnar -- the UFC Heavyweight Champ -- is in "bad shape" according to UFC president Dana White and won't be fighting anytime soon.
White made the announcement after UFC 105 last night, saying "He's in a hospital up in North Dakota somewhere right now. He went to Canada and some bad stuff happened to him, so we've got to figure it out ... He doesn't want to talk about it publicly, but he's in bad shape. He's not well and he's not going to be getting well anytime soon."
Lesnar originally pulled out of a November 18 fight and reports suggested he had swine flu. The fight was rescheduled for January 2, but then it was announced Lesnar had mononucleosis.
But White made it clear, Lesnar's problems go beyond mono: "He is not good. He is very, very sick and he's going to be out for a while."

And now the biggest story about Fleetwood Mac since they reunited in 1997: Mick Fleetwood just had the dreaded pig virus, A.K.A. swine flu.
We got the infection-free legend yesterday at LAX -- who said he was down with the sickness just 10 days ago.
Though symptoms include fever, diarrhea and vomiting, Mick says it "wasn't too bad."

Swine flu has been the ammunition for a lot of jokes recently, but last night, Ice-T reminded everyone why it's still a serious issue -- it killed someone close to him.
The rapper and his wife Coco were walking into a Star Magazine party at Bardot last night -- where Ice told TMZ he didn't realize the severity of the illness until recently, when one of his friends caught it and died.

Our cameraman lathered on the hand sanitizer before talking to former swine flu patient Dr. Sanjay Gupta -- but according to the good doc, pouring on the Purell wouldn't totally keep the pig virus at bay anyway.
In Malibu last night, Gupta gave us the 411 on H1N1 and celeb infectee Brian Littrell, saying dude probably wasn't contagious yesterday when he flew in from NY -- because the Backstreet Boy told The Gup his fever has passed when he went airborne.
FYI -- our photog who shot Littrell at LAX is now sick with flu-like symptoms. No word on how the guy who shot this footage is feeling ... yet.

Pigs don't fly -- but yesterday one Backstreet Boy just infected with the swine flu did.
After being quarantined in his NY hotel with the virus since Sunday, Brian Littrell finally got the A.O.K. to travel back to L.A. -- and though he said his doc cleared him for human interaction, our pap wasn't taking him up on any proposed mouth-to-mouth contact.

Looks like real Mexicans aren't even immune to some old fashioned belly-busting Mexican food.
We're told Paul Rodriguez -- the famous Mexican-born comedian -- went out to a Mexican restaurant in Washington the night before he got really sick and had to go to the hospital for 4 days. Now he's thinking the whole thing was a bad case of food poisoning.
While doctors haven't been able to confirm this, we spoke to Paul's friend who said the comedian ordered the "Carne Asada Plate" -- and he spent the rest of the night in the bathroom ... before eventually calling an ambulance.
Paul stayed at the hospital Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night ... then checked out yesterday.
Just goes to show -- Mexican restaurants are all fun and games until someone is rushed to the ICU.

That must have been another pale, black haired, goth rocker blowing nasty swine flu snot rockets while singing a Marilyn Manson song at a Marilyn Manson concert -- because the rocker says it wasn't him.
We got a hopefully flu-less Marilyn out in L.A. last night, where his sarcasm was beyond infectious.

Nine Inch Nails had to cancel last night's show in Hollywood because frontman Trent Reznor was "ill" -- and now we know exactly what's buggin' him.
Sources close to Trent tell TMZ he had a cold and developed a clogged ear during his flight out to California.
The clog got so bad, we're told Reznor couldn't hear himself sing during his show Wednesday at the Palladium and overcompensated by screaming out his songs -- resulting in some seriously screwed up vocal cords.
Reznor will be visiting the doctor again today, and they'll decide then whether the band will be able to continue the tour.
UPDATE: NIN's last few tour dates have now been rescheduled.

We've gotten to the bottom of the David Hasselhoff mystery, and it ain't the way his ex is painting it.
Here's what we know. This past Saturday, David was at home with his daughter Hayley and there was a squabble. David had been drinking but nowhere near the level that his ex is painting it. The Hoff had not been feeling well, and the illness, combined with the alcohol, made a trip to the hospital prudent.
David walked to the car, where he was driven to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He had not passed out, contrary to reports. He walked on his own power and was released yesterday.
Hasselhoff is fine, though he regrets drinking.
Bottom line -- David's ex, Pamela Bach, is on the warpath and her story just doesn't ring true.

Jay Leno had to cancel two of his shows last week after being hospitalized with a 103 degree fever -- but the only thing sick about the "Tonight Show" host last night was his car.
Jay is scheduled to return to the air tonight.

Jay Leno went to the hospital today after complaining he wasn't feeling well.
Leno was not taken to the hospital by ambulance -- he either drove himself or was driven by a staffer. NBC officials have confirmed tonight's show taping has been canceled -- a repeat will air instead.
A rep for Leno says he's still in the hospital for observation.
UPDATE -- A rep for "The Tonight Show" says Leno will miss Friday's episode as well. But, the rep adds, "Jay Leno is doing just fine. He was kidding around with the hospital staff and running his monologue jokes by the doctors and the nurses. He's expected back to work on Monday."
